Nobody will live up to your expectations, including you. So why not just drop them and love what is.
We put such high expectations on ourselves and others, and what purpose does it serve? In fact, it is one of the greatest causes of our suffering because we are setting ourselves and others up for failure.
When we see the world through our filters, nothing lives up to what we expect the world to look like, how we expect others to behave, or what we expect we should be achieving that we aren’t.
What if we were to drop ALL of our expectations. We would never be disappointed by life, or by others, or by ourselves. Reaching for being a better person and living a better life does not require any emotional investment in the immediate outcome.
If people aren’t treating you the way you want to be treated, look at the beliefs within you that are causing those experiences in your life.
If you haven’t achieved everything you want to yet, relax and keep the faith. Some things take longer than others and you just need to make some adjustments to the way you are doing things. No biggie! Regroup, adjust your approach and just keep going!
If your life doesn’t look the way you want it to, then ask empowering questions like ‘How can I make this better?” or “What can I do differently to achieve better outcomes?”
This works in any area of your life. The moment you release your emotional attachment to any situation, event or circumstance, suffering ends and inspiration kicks in. So stop beating yourself up, pat yourself on the back for being the wonderful, amazing, courageous person you are and know that all is well, and as it should be.
You are beautiful, amazing, unique, priceless and more powerful than you can even being to imagine.
